My name is Whitney, most people call me Whit. I’m originally from small town Nebraska and grew up on an ag farm an hour south of Omaha. We ran through itchy corn, swam in filthy lakes, wrestled in mud, touched live cattle fences, picked up roadkill, played on defuncted combines, and climbed around in tetanus-filled machine sheds.

I have very early memories of drawing, specifically one where I had an existential crisis when I realized I could sharpen a crayon into oblivion. I started focusing on drawing as a hobby in about fifth grade and drew daily throughout my childhood. When I finished high school I immediately ran to start peddling for a tattoo apprenticeship while working as a pharmacy technician. I apprenticed at a walk-in shop and worked there for 5 years before starting Cat’s Claw.

Outside of work, I enjoy roadtripping to get out of the city. I have a plant collection that’s bordering on embarrassing and I fuss over them and my cat like my life depends on it.
